It all started back in the 50’s. Answering calls for – and actually dispatching – local police departments. The more modern version of our sister company, Towne Answering Service, was established in 1968 to provide call center and answering services for medical and commercial clients utilizing the best technology available at the time (the time was 1968 and the technology was a switchboard!). The majority of those clients are still with us today. As time passed and technology advanced, so did Towne. The answering and call center equipment we use evolved from switchboards to a basic computerized system with handwritten messages. From there Towne moved to a fully computerized, paperless, state-of-the-art messaging system with digital lines and switching.
In November of 2008, we moved to a larger facility at 208 North Main Street, in Souderton, Pennsylvania. January of the following year saw us implement our fifth generation of computerized call center platform, which has enabled us to continue our growth and meet the needs of our customers into the 21st century.
Towne’s computer systems are protected by redundant UPS battery back-up systems and dual standby generators in case of extended power outages. Multiple-route / multiple-vendor telecommunications lines provide fail-over protection. Redundant switching and computer systems provide protection from hardware failures. Off-site backups also protect our data from both digital and physical damage. Remote administrative and operator capabilities are available in case the evacuation of our own facility is needed. Since 2008, Towne has achieved the ATSI Gold Star Site Certification, exceeding industry standards in the areas of business practices and infrastructure, certified for 99.999% up-time.
We provides HIPAA compliant services to the medical community in the new age of increased governmental regulations. Towne has always regarded the privacy of customer data, and extend that protection of information to all of our customers, medical or otherwise. No information will ever be disseminated to a third party, unless by specific request.
Along with protecting client information, your own security is a priority of Towne as well. Calls can be routed through our staff by request, so that your phone number can remain private.
Expanding our area of operations, 2009 saw the addition of monitoring services to allow for the ability to receive alarm signals into the operators. Our software and hardware platforms allow us to respond to any type of call – automated, elevator, residential, commercial and Personal Emergency Response, just to name a few.
